a cute spurt?

Big guy has been going through a cute spurt!  Kind of like a growth spurt, but for cuteness.  Part of this spurt is an immense amount of eating though.  He's been eating like a champ.  For instance, the other night, we went to our favorite burger place.  Big guy had a cheese burger, french fries, and then when we got home, he ate two bowls of cap'n crunch cereal.  Or last night, we had ravioli, steamed broccoli, and raisins.  Then before bed, managed to steal hubs's healthy nut mix and eat about a third of the container!!  Which really makes me nervous for when he is a teenager, I mean, how much is he going to eat then???!!!

So, the eating has definitely increased and thus the cuteness has increased as well.  Big guy has gotten his cheeks to the perfect little puffy stage where every time he smiles, little dimples appear and his eyes sparkle.  It just so adorable.  And he just flashes this cuteness at the best times.  Like when he is sitting on the potty and just smiles up at me, beaming really, like, "yeah, I'm adorable and sitting on the potty like a big boy." Or tonight when I was putting him in bed.  He was making a camera shape with his hands, holding it to his eyes, and saying "cheese!"  All while making cute picture taking clicky noises.  Then he held his hands out for me to look at and saying, "take a picture mommy!"  He's just taking adorable to a whole new level!

Is it summer yet?

Just four more weeks... until it's me and the big guy all day every day for about two months.  I  know, I constantly talk about summer and lament when it isn't summer.  But what you need to understand is that I get the little man all to myself and we get to just have fun every day.  And this summer is going to be epic!  Not only do we have our normal line up-
-Sand table cleaned and new sand added
-working hose with adjustable nozzle
-parks/playgrounds
-zoo and museum memberships
-pool membership!!!
But we are also going on two very exciting trips this summer.  The first will be to DISNEY WORLD!!!
We are so excited.  We are going for a whole week and get to take gmom J with us!  I'm already planned for activities to do on the plane, itineraries (laminated), and started summer clothes shopping for big guy.  Hubs and I are also on a limited meal plan to get into Disney shape.  Certainly don't want to be unable to walk around disney wearing baggy clothing- it's hot down there!
Our second trip is without hubs (who will be working-duh).  Big guy, gmom Dino, and I are taking a car trip up to New Hampshire.  On the way, we are visiting Great aunt H in NY, some cousins/second cousins in Connecticut, and Great Aunt B in upstate NY.  So, it's part road trip, part super fun vaction in NH at Lake Winnipasaukie!  here we come beach, boating, sun, checking out dino's 8 acres, exploring nature, basically all things that big guy and I love to do!  assuming we like boating, since we haven't been on one.  =\

naked time

Tonight, hubs, big guy and I were enjoying the outside weather.  I was watering flowers, while big guy and hubs were playing at the sand table.  Big guy saw me filling a bucket with water from the hose.  He then wanted a bucket of water to put into the sand. I filled up teh bucket and went back to watering flowers.  Next thing I hear is hubs yelling for me to come quick.  Luckily, he was also doubled over laughing, so I wasn't worried.  I look over and big guy has taken off this shirt and shorts and is just standing in his undies.  I asked what happened and hubs said he had gotten wet.  We had a good laugh and I went back to the flowers.  Only to be called again.  This time, big guy was completely naked!  Apparently, the undies got wet, too!  It was hysterically funny!  But I'm proud to report that big guy can successfully take off all his clothes by himself.  Interesting because he refuses to take off his own clothes for bath time!

kids say the cutest things

big guy has been saying some adorable things lately!  But this was an especially cute conversation we had on tuesday.  We were walking out of school and the day before they had had a plant sale. So, we walk out:
Big Guy- Mommy, where'd the flowers go?
Me- I don't know buddy.
BG- the flowers fly away! ( pointing to the sky)
Me- oh, they flew away!
BG- mommy, flowers fly with clouds!
Me- wow, those flowers are up high
BG- up high mommy!

Dino Visit

For mother's day I got the best gift- gmom dino came to stay!  She arrived on friday around 4.  Big guy saw her and screamed "gramma dino!"then bolted into her arms!  We quickly headed out for a pizza dinner, where we all pigged out, but had so much fun talking, eating, and laughing.  After ice cream, we headed home and went to bed.  Saturday we decided to relax and have fun at home.  We watched some movies, big guy played outside while dino and I gardened. Then dino and I took big guy on a really long walk around the neighborhood.  He walked the entire way to the train station, the toy store, and then back.  dino got him a cool magnify glass and a bendy man.  Bendy man turned out to be our savior when big guy had an epic meltdown on the way to the burger place for dinner.  however, bendy man came to sit with us outside and happily munched on his entire burger and fries!  sunday we had a yummy bagel w/ cream cheese, eggs, turkey ham, and chocolate chip muffin brunch.  then we went to big guy's favorite park, the one with all the sand.  We spent a few hours there and then took a walk through the neighborhood grassy area with a stream.  Big guy happily picked up yellow flowers and whapped trees with branches he found.  We then returned home to relax before gmom dino hit the road.  Hubs and I took big guy to the BJ's after she left.  Following stocking up on mass quantities of chocolate milk drink boxes and other fun stuff (haha- no diapers :), we spent some more time enjoying the beautiful weather outside before calling it a weekend.

7 diapers

The world of peeing on the potty has been going very well!  We have been successfully peeing on the potty for about two weeks.  This week is way better than last week, as he has only had one accident and that was on monday.  Big guy is pretty much a peeing on the potty champ!  He's to the point now where he just says when he needs to pee and poop and it's no big deal.  The only diapers I put on are overnight.  And this morning, big guy's diaper was totally dry!!  woot woot!

The only caveat of losing diapers is that you have to know where the closest bathroom is located at all time.  But I'll take that over lugging around diapers any day!  And today I got a huge smile on my face because I realized big guy and I can go in the big pool this summer because we are diaper free!
